  • Khaman Recipe: Cut Satvam Khaman Mix pack from top and remove the sachet which is inside the Khaman mixture. Add the Khaman mixture into a bowl containing 330 ml of water and stir well. Keep the mixture aside for 5 mins. Dissolve the contents of the sachet in 70 ml of water and immediately add it to the above mixture.
  • Mix well and spread it onto 2 oiled base plates. Steam for 20 mins. Remove the plates and let it cool for 10 mins. Pour 130 ml of water on the plates and cut the Khaman into equal pieces. 
  • For Tadka - Take 90 gms oil and add mustard seeds and green chilli. Add 280 ml of water into it and bring to a boil and pour equally on the plate of Khaman. To decorate sprinkle green coriander and grated coconut on Khaman. Serve hot with Satvam's Kadhi.
  • Kadhi Recipe: Add 430 ml of water into Satvam Kadhi Powder. Stir well and make it a mixture without lumps. Boil it for 5 mins and serve with hot Satvam Khaman.

Khaman is a very popular dish in Gujarat which is synonymous with the Gujarati cuisines. The batter for making Khaman is prepared using the chickpea flour and curd, along with added spices and herbs. Khaman recipe involves thick fermentation for the unique fluffy texture.

The batter is usually set aside for at least 4-6 hours for fermentation, and is steamed in the shape of a cake to prepare Khaman with a smooth nylon like texture. The cake is then cut into pieces and the pieces are garnished using herbs and salts fried in oil.
